OUR HISTORY
Camina is a non-profit organisation with as goal to connect by means of art. To connect to
ourselves,
each other,
the community,
(a) culture,
the environment/nature
Our association came to being in February 2016 in Brussels, founded by people with a passion for dance, music and culture ... in all their facets!
The founders originating from Chili, Mexico, Italy and Spain were swiftly joined by new friends from Belgium, Cuba, Argentina and Belarus.
Together they profoundly believe in the power of art to connect different worlds.
METHOD
Camina strives to meet these needs by utilising certain forms of arts, the triade: dance, rhythm and speech. From the very start of humanity until now these three have been used to connect to our surroundings, to nature, to animals, to other people and to ourselves.
Movement, rhythm and words are simple, yet powerful tools which encourage contact. Children are born singing and dancing. It is through physical, sensorial and emotional expression that we are able to communicate and bond.
These poetic and natural instruments help us explore these "5 dimensions": connection with ourselves, each other, the community, (a) culture and the environment.
